We all know about data visualization; for his debut post on TDS, Pavle Marinkovic turns to the emerging field of data sonification. It’s a novel approach that empowers practitioners to detect patterns and draw insights through new sensory inputs: “Sound brings life to objects, places, and moments that lay dormant otherwise. I would love to get some feedback from the SuperCollider community. There's a discourse server at https://discourse.klank.dev that has a README and several examples. It currently only really works on Firefox and, interestingly enough, the Android version of Chrome/Brave.

As I've been using SuperCollider for nearly all my electronic musicking since 2006, klank takes lots of inspiration from SuperCollider and hsc3. Where it's a bit different is that it blurs the line between UGens and control structures. While the distinction still exists, it uses FRP and the PureScript type system to elide the two concepts.
